I placed an order for a pizza with Pizza Hut India at 9.45pm, and the pizza arrived at 11.00 pm that too after making a few calls to their call-center and to the store.
The order was for a family size pizza, but they sent me 4 small pizzas. I explained to the delivery boy that the order has been delayed beyond the promised delivery time, and I will not pay for it. At 11.08 pm, I got a call from the store manager Manoj from 0124-4284444.
To begin with Manoj was rude and acted over-smart, when I did not give in to his arrogance; he got abusive, rather went ballistic with his abuses. After the call ended, I got hold of the rider, returned the pizzas, and asked the rider to call Manoj. The rider waited for Manoj to turn-up.
I made three calls (11.14, 11.20 and 11.25) to the Pizza Hut India call-center and narrated my experience, and every time I was assured that some Regional Manager is in the process of calling me any moment – Nobody except a guy called Bhupender has been called from 9466465575, claiming to be Manoj’s boss, which he definitely was not and threatened me that he will call the police if I did not allow the rider leave.
The rider told me that all his colleagues from his store have left for the day, and he is helpless. The rider too left at about 12.00am.
I got a call from the local police station at 12.40am, informing me that I had kidnapped and beaten up the Pizza Hut rider. I explained to situation to the policeman, and the policeman very politely advised me to avoid such situations.
