PK was most awaited film of the year for almost all movie buffs, however after watching the movie I found it very ordinary. I had similar feeling after watching Jai Ho(this movie is much better than Jai ho technically, qualitatively and script wise). I strongly feel one should not make movie out of a social message instead a movie should have a social message among other things like music, action or any other aspect related to entertainment.
Film starts on a very promising note, Anushka will steal your heart in first scene and you will keep searching for(your heart and her) even after the movie ends.(Till the time you dont get a thapki from your wife or GF). She is pretty, sweet, beautiful and has acted very well. Shushant Singh has a cameo, he did a good job as well. Sanju bhai was ok and other than one or two songs there is nothing much to cherish about music.
Script does tickle your funny bone, however it failed on emotional front. Story telling and comic timing has been the strength of Raju Hirani movies, here also good effort has been put on this front, however after a point it becomes repetitive. Lets take example of 3 idiots, it surprises you regularly be it electrification of pee by Aamir, his alterations with Kareena, Bomban Irani as principal, running away act of Kareena and finally laboratory of Aamir.
Similarly in Munna Bhai series we had Sanju baba, Arshad, fake hospital, get well soon and lots of other things. In this movie everything revolves around Aamir and other characters were not able to bring out there personality. Thats where it becomes little repetitive and slow .Lets talk about great Aamir Khan. Who am I to judge him for others but as an individual I felt there was lack of consistency in his act.
In few scenes he stole the show and in others he was just a normal actor. He was given a role where he has this inquisitive cold face which allows very limited variations, may be thats why I felt like this. No doubt about his acting skills, he is superb. One time watch, much better than what we are being served by Bollywood these days. Go for it. Word of caution>
If you have seen OMG you may end up comparing the movies and I found OMG more entertaining than this movie.
