Facilities equal to those of Apollo Hospital or Fortis Hospital in Bangalore but costing less than 10th of their charges. Centrally Air-conditioned, having excellent facilities, good professional doctors, no crowding. I couldn’t believe it is a Government-run hospital. Thank you, Government of Karnataka!
A surgery that cost Rs. 70K in Fortis Hospital was done in PMSSY SSH for Rs. 7.5K if you choose Special Ward. For 70K, Fortis admits you to a ward having 3 beds in a small room, with little space for an attendant near bed. At PMSSY SSH, the general ward itself is spacious and if you choose Special ward(costing just Rs. 1K per day) you get a private room all for yourself and your attendant and my total bill for the hospital stay was just Rs. 7500/-
Medical and Nursing staff are as competent as those in the 5-star private hospitals.
If you do not speak Kannada, you may have some problem in communicating with Nurses and lower level staff. But that is to be expected.
If you don’t have health insurance, go to PMSSY SSH instead of wasting money at 5 star private hospitals.
