I needed to renew my car insurance policy and since the sector is now liberalised one can compare costs online and Policy Bazzar claims to make the process simpler.
So on 24 July I went to the site and tried to buy one online. Lo and behold the backend coding is inadequate and the attempt to get an IDV was blocked. So I left my cell Number to enable them to call me back. Which they did.15 times.
I finally was given a link to enable me to pay through net banking. Soon as I paid the money there was silence from policybazzar.com. On inquiring I was told they now want my old policy and Car RC papers. I sent the scans.but yet no response.
So once again I inquired and NOW they want me to sign a paper for the Voluntary Deduction amount. This was not understood since the premium quote included the Voluntary Deduction amount that I had requested.
So, people.be careful before you use policybazzar.com as they will deliberately withold important information till you pay and then start asking for documents.one by one and not all at once or even mention anything about it till you have paid.
BEWARE BEWARE!
The Second Part.
Finally after a lot of phone calls and "all caps" emails I got confirmation that all was well and they were ready to issue a COVER NOTE .but were confused about the cubic capacity of the car.this after I had sent a scan of the RC.
As of today I have received a scan of a cover note prepared by hand with minor arithmetic errors which the customer service were unable to resolve/answer correctly. But I am tired and so I let it rest.
AND by the way my mail to their complaint/feedback department is yet to be answered.after 4 days.
