Well! well! well! For all you hungry and indolent people out there(just as myself) who got loads of time or are just looking out for a place in the suburbs. yet away from it. You have this place located somewhere in R-mall(for the mumbaites who act as if theyve never crossed Bandra and think that beyond Bandra lies a rubric n pastoral village life. R-mall is in MULUND. search on google. ul find it there) right on the third floors in some unnoticeable corner with a catchy yet easily misgiving title. **POPTATES- theUNrestaurant.
Food my not be the only criterion for judging how the restaurant survives but POPTATES has proved its worth since it boasts of a rich **INTERCONTINENTAL CUISINE** ranging from the usual **Pizzas, Pastas and Sizzlers** to a range of new dishes unknown(atleast to me!). The newly connoted titles may need bit of description for which you can call one of the waiters and bore him til he gives u the ingredients down to the very last detail. ok! tat was a bit exagerrated but the waiters know wat goes into the food which could help mostadventurous ppl to venture to unknown foodland by trying a couple of new dishes as the experience-drive.just for the records, this restaurant specialises in INTERCONTINENTAL food so please dont make a fool outta yourself by trying to order punjabi and ruining your both the tastes- your tongues and and the restaurants impression in your head. So the approx billing per head should be
*for starters- Rs 80 to Rs 300( if you wanna make the starter your meal)
for main-course- Rs 170 onwards
***The **staff ** are amicable but may be a bit sluggish n slow especially during peak hours. talk about a weekend and you will have to be more active than the staff around to put forth your menu and see to it that it reaches on time but if you looking for a place to just chill out with yourspecial one and time aint on your mind, poptates is a must try. Wat I suggest is that you could place your order, go-watch a movie n return to find both - a nice place to chill out and eat. all in the same evening.Belive me it works.
The attactive feature which regular visitors face of late is the **removal** of the **HAPPY HOURS **which was introduced for atleast 6 months( just a guess .) and later removed. The weekday slots from 3pm to 7pm used to be filled with college-students and others coz you get a **one-on-one-free o**ffer on any genre of liquor of any brand. yeah! you heard that right. A pint of beer worth Rs 200 could satiate you out since when your done with the first, there was another one instore for you. This was a dream-come true for many a t**ipplers** who would loll around in the **smoky** ambience, listening away to the **old rock hits **played along with the **cricket or footbol match** on the big **lcd **making you realise that this is wat you were always born for. wow! I almost got lost there.
*The booze is priced at Rs 40 onwards
A range of cocktails with a few new names to learn start Rs 30 onwards*
So to sum it all up- We have a dimly lit place with the rich yet opulent smoky atmosphere filling up your lungs, rock-type o music, Intercontinental cuisine, friends and family, or just yourself. so tats **poptates. start living before you stop living.*
