This is a review about the dealer & their service. Popular Bajaj, BSK-III, Bangalore. Bike: CT100. Very satisfied with the bike. Its 7 months old now. Done:3900 kms so far. 65-70Kmpl. Solo, City riding, Bangalore, 35-45kmph speed. All the disappointment is because of the Dealer: Popular Bajaj, BSK-III. Points where I felt cheated:
1. I wanted a CT100 DLX(new-look headlamps/mirror/indicators, fuel gauge, etc). But was given a non-DLX with retro-fitted head-lamp alone. Got round mirrors(chetak-style) & round indicators, and no fuel gauge. But they called it DLX. There was no other variant.(Probably since CT100 was being stopped, Bajaj itself was did this to throw away the last few pieces)
2. Very arrogant attitude by the dealers staff, right after the payment was made. None of the fitments(saree-guard, seat-cover, buzzer) were fitted till I went to take delivery(after a phone call from them).
3. Bike must be water-washed during delivery. These people didnt even give it a wipe. Just gave me a stare when I asked for a wipe.
4. In fact, I couldnt do/talk much as they didnt show me the bike till I signed all receipts & gave feedback. Payment was made 2 days earlier.
5. My signature wasnt pasted in the RC book.(There is a specified space there).
They asked me to contact RTO directly. Service:
1. Its like a Govt. Hospital for cattle. Once you see the crowd, youll lose all hope of gettinganything done. Except for a water-wash.
2. They charge forfree services also.
3. For any service, they wont write down any tasks in the Job-card. Theyll write down only if charges can be levied(Oil, Battery, fittings etc).( once I tok the card forcefully & entered it myself).
4. Oil top-up will be charges Rs200. But youll see only 50% filled up.
5. Service guys wont be present during delivery(2-5pm). Only the watchman will give. No talking, No arguments, No use with the watchman.
6. Those who write the job cards dont do any repair work, so they dont know technical things. They just switch-on all lights, indicators, horn, and give a full throttle.
7. They never check tyre-pressure during service. I guess they dont have the compressor at all. The first service was pathetic. The ride was very good till then. I just told them to tighten the clutch-handle. Instead they did something in the gear-box, and shifting was very nasty. Also meddled with the carb & chain settings, so pickup became really pathetic.
Engine would go off on closing throttle, even while changing gears. Was very dangerous in Bangalore-traffic. I took it there twice, but no use. I took the task myself, and slightly turned the screw in carburetor. Things are fine. They reset it on every service, and I re-do it every time. Thankfully, I didnt buy an expensive bike like Pulsar from them. Sadly, Popular is the sole Bajaj dealer for BSK & Jayanagar. My next bike: HH KarizmA
