I used Portea Medical services in Whitefield Bangalore in response to an ad they had pasted in our apartment on home blood sample collection for testing. This was for my wife who had been feeling unwell and we suspected it might be her blood sugar levels.
Portea responded quickly in sending a technician to our place. In fact it seemed like there were too many phone calls made to me to just re-confirm the booking and address, including the technician himself who called twice the previous night.
The experience of blood sample collection was quite poor. The technician that showed up was very insensitive in collecting the blood, quick to poke the needle at multiple places if he didn’t find the vein, and worse, he left the used syringes on our table asking us to dispose them rather than carrying it himself. This is not what you expect from a company that advertises themselves as leaders in home care.
The worst shock we received was when the test result reports seemed to indicate values that were suspiciously high for some components that my wife did not have a history of. We landed up re-doing the results at a different lab and found the results were very different! With this experience, we have lost complete faith in Portea’s medical care and technical ability to perform tests. Very poor experience indeed.
