Extremely Disappointed and Outraged Porter Packers & Movers is a Scam in the Name of Service
My decent experience with Porters Packers and Movers service has been nothing short of a nightmare. I opted for their service expecting professionalism, but what I received was harassment, fraud, and a complete lack of accountability both from Porter and the vendor they appointed, Sanjay Ram.
First, the vendor deliberately sent an undersized vehicle despite my clearly informing them about the number and size of carton boxes in advance. Only two laborers were sent, even though it was clearly a four-man job. After arriving and seeing the workload, they demanded extra money, stating they couldnt manage it with just two men. Under duress, I agreed to pay ₹600 per head extra, over and above the quoted amount.
I had also paid for multi-layer packing, which was entirely skipped by them. Not a single item was packed as promised so I had to remove that add-on from the list.
Then, just before the shifting process began, the driver had the audacity to ask me to pay ₹792 for the Road Tax because his vehicles tax had expired. He told me to deduct the amount from the final quote. Things got worse. At the Charkhi Dadri checkpost, the vehicle was stopped due to invalid documents, an illegal number plate, and the driver not wearing a seat belt. The vendor and driver refused to pay the fine, risking seizure of the vehicle, and I was forced to pay ₹500 myself again told I could deduct it later.
After unloading, I deducted the ₹1292 I had already paid (₹792 road tax + ₹500 challan) from the quoted ₹4015, added ₹1200 for the extra laborers, and paid ₹3923 via UPI. Yet even after this, the vendor demanded another ₹500, claiming they sent a bigger vehicle. When I rightly refused, the two men turned aggressive, tried to physically assault me and my wife, and threatened to kill us. This is the kind of goon-like behavior Porter enables by giving contracts to unchecked third-party vendors.
Porter, as a company, is equally to blame. They hand out jobs to random vendors with zero verification or quality control. Theres no way to track your vehicle, no functioning customer support, and no accountability for the threats and illegal practices their vendors engage in.
This is not a service this is daylight extortion.
Avoid Porter Packers and Movers at all costs. And beware of the vendor named Sanjay Ram hes a threat to customer safety.
Now even after me paying the vendor. He refuses to close the order and is harassing me by calling me from different numbers.
Mind you all. The packing was done by me and my wife. All they had to do was to load and unload the items. All the stuff in Carton box was packed by us.
