Hostel Life

I think every young man should live in a hostel atleast once during his lifetime. Preferably while studying.

In today’s world, life is really hard on every person who tries to make his own mark. Living in a hostel prepares one of the hard lives ahead of you. One of the most important things you learn is to budget your expenses. It is this that is going to help you a lifetime. Also other aspects include training yourself to do things yourself which other wise you sweet mom was always doing for you.

Another important aspect of hostel life is ragging. If ragging is done within limits (not physical), its usefulness goes unnoticed. My personal experience as one that had been ragged was bad when it happened but today after 16 years I am still benefiting the person I became. You learn to be able to perform under pressure. I remember occasions while I was in college that students could not recite our national anthem due to the pressure. But as time passed, they could take the pressure and did better. Today, we come across similar occasions in life ’’ To perform Under Pressure’’ and it works in my favor.

Now I am a parent and wish my child to be as tough as I was. I hope to be able to train for the life ahead. Yes he will definitely go to a hostel some day.
