We decided to take a break from the maddening city traffic and concrete jungle by heading to pragati resorts on Sunday 06-jun-10 . I had visited the place as a part of office outing earlier and had liked it. Hence decide to take my family consisting of a diabetic mother and my child. The staff were quite sympathetic and allowed me to carry diabetic food for my mother (outside food is not allowed). We reached the place at 9.45 am and headed straight for the childrens park. It was well maintained with reasonable variety. The best thing was that it was surrounded by trees that made it a nice place to start with even during the summer. We spent around 1.5 to 2 hours in this place and my daughter had a nice time. If the area is covered with more trees then the children can play even during afternoon peak summer of the summer season.
Being a sunday, the crowd started swelling in the park. We moved to walk around the place. The trees are well labeled and as the name aptly says, it is truly a herbal resort with various types of trees planted. There were mango orchard with mangoes hanging around giving a real good feel of being with nature. We moved to indoor games room. Though there were not much of variety here, we could spend the next 45 mins to 1 hour here. The lunch room was nearby and was well prepared. It was air-conditioned. Being Pure Vegetarians, we were a bit sceptic about the arrangement but were pleasantly surprised to find that the non-veg and veg were seperately kept. The Food was quite good. Desserts was the best of all. Being quite hot by the time we completed the lunch ie 2pm, we headed for the pool area.
The pool had various levels and can be enjoyed by the entire family (of course excluding elders like my mother who was not interested). There are pools of varying depth from 2.5 feet to 5 feet. Being sunday, the pool was quite crowded and with this the water was well maintained too. Only one water cascade was not working, the rest of them were good. Around 3.30pm, the music was switched on at the pool and everyone had a great time in and around the pool with the music.
We left the pool at 4.30 pm and headed for Hi-Tea at the same place where lunch was served. Snacks and hot tea was really good and was placed in an ambient environment. We left Pragati resorts with a good memories to cherish and had our fill for the day.
Overall, to summarize, a day outing at Pragati was worth the charge (600 bucks per adult and 300 for child) that included swimming, buffet lunch and Hi-Tea in addition to the greenery all around.
