When I wanted to stay in a homestay in chikmagalur like all ppl I googled and finalized on a homestay with good reviews and which is in my budget. But the homestay had no online booking option, so I made a query in holidayIQ website.
Next day I got a call from Prakruthi [travel partner of holiday IQ], the executive on the other end introduced himself as "Assistant" for the owner of the homestay I was interested in and told it overbook. Then he went on to say they have other options for stay and can arrange for transportation and take care of entire siteseeing. later emailed me details of some other homestays and "package cost" [cost was alteast 1.5 to 2 time more than the homestay I wanted].
I got little suspicious and just googled and called the number of the homestay, to my suprise it’s available and there is no assistance for this owner. Prakruthi seems to be a big cheat, and misleading ppl. Certainly not a right way to do business even if they are 100 yrs old company.
When I complain I got a call from Prakruthi trying to explain[Argue] the "fault" is with the owner of the homestay and there are in business for 7+ yrs etc etc.but in the end no proper info is given to the customers. Not at all reliable and no value for money.
I would definitely avoid these ppl in future and would do the bookings directly.
