The Best in Hyderabad....

This is the first imax and multiplex theatre in Hyderabad. It has one imax screen and 4 normal screens, all of them in one complex, also with shopping after movies. It was opened some 2.5 yrs back.Lets start with the location,

Location-Everyone knows about the stinky suicidal spot Hussain Sagar lake, popularly known as Tank Bund.Near this tank bund, is the famous N.T.R Gardens. The Prasads Multiplex is located beside this gardens. The area is very calm and has hardly any traffic. The traffic seen there mostly belongs to the visitors of this complex.

The Parking-Nowadays every citizen owns a vehicle and parking is essential as well as necessary for any complex. This complex has the best car parking in hyderabad. The car parking is at the cellar, whereas the 2 wheeler parking is around the compound.2 wheeler parking is average. The parking fee for cars is 10 bucks, and for 2 wheelers....sorry I dont know coz I never went there on a two wheeler.

The ticket counter-Personally I dont like the ticket counter, not because of the way its built but of the way its managed. There are about 4 counters, but most of the time, only 1 or 2 are used. And another one is kept for acquiring tele booking tickets. All the tickets, imax and all the 4 screens tickets are sold only at the 2 counters and thats a bit irritating.Even if there are no people for the movie you want to watch, you have to stand in long queue along with the people going for the other screens. There are also four or five 15 inches monitors, mounted side by side to show us the status of the tickets, above the counter. All these monitors show the same info!then whats the use of having 5 monitors?one is enough. All they show is the name of the movie, time and ticket cost and wether the tickets are available or not. They dont even show how many tickets are remaining.   Personally, i feel that each monitor should be assigned for each screen. The cost of a ticket at the normal screen was 60 at the beginning. But recently it was hiked to 100 for newly released movies for the first two weeks, coz of a government order. There is a hitch here.No regional movie runs more than 2 weeks here and you have to pay 100 compulsory if you want to watch a new movie here. The cost for the imax screen is 120 for documentaries and 180 for Hollywood movies. You can even select your seats, by pointing them at the monitor of the ticket seller. The tickets are computer print outs.

The Complex-The complex is highly luminous and well decorated. The ground floor is mostly occupied by a restaurant and some other showrooms. The imax hall is at the first floor. This floor also has some shops, including a fast food center. There is also a gaming arena at the 1st or 2nd floor.

The screens-The 4 screens are at the 3rd floor. All are adjacent to each other.

Inside the halls-There are about 24 rows in alphabetical order, from top to bottom. There are more than 20 seats in each row.The basic color theme is dark blue. The seats are quite comfortable. But the leg space is just sufficient for a person to pass by, touching your legs. The picture quality is good. The sound quality is a bit eerie.Sometimes its very loud and sometimes its just normal. The first movie I saw here was Shankar directed Boys.by the time the movie was over, my head was aching terribly due to the sound. And I vowed never to come here again. But soon, i had to go again because my friends booked tickets there for Sathyam movie and I had no other choice. But this time sound was not so loud.It was good. And I kept coming again and again. The best experience here was when I watched Spiderman 2 in the imax. What an experience it was!!They call it the imax experience. But recently I stopped going there since last december coz of the hike in ticket prices.Overall, a worth for money.
