If you are somehow compelled to deal with Pratham, this may help you to be more watchful. I booked a White Alto from Pratham and organized it such that I’d get delivery on a very special day. Three days before the delivery date, I called to confirm the time and so on and was told, sorry, we can’t give you your choice of color even though you booked it more than a month ago; you can however pay another Rs.3500 and we’ll deliver you a Silver colored car on the day you originally were to take delivery.
I had no option but to agree, feeling a bit urinated that these guys were sitting on their butts and waiting for me to call before passing on this news. The second and a bit more serious issue was that nowhere they discussed the ’optional’ extended warranty scheme and screwed me by including that in the pricing. So total rip off by Pratham: 3500 + 2500. Now the plot thickens. When I finally went to take delivery, I was aghast to see that they’d not even bothered to clean the car properly. Insides were FILTHY.
They kept me waiting there for 3 HOURS while they did cleaned the car - wiping the inside with some stinking cloth; it took 2 days before the stink went away. As I was driving off, I found that the steering wheel was not centered properly. I took the car back and was assured by their sales staff that these issues would be taken care off during the first service. The first service came and went: the only thing they did apart from the mandatory few hundred rupee bill was a pathetic car wash: I do a better job. Now these jokers tell me that they’ll fix it in the second service!!!P.R.Singh
