Formerly known as Hindu College, later Presidency College and now graduated to Presidency University, was founded by scholars of that time namely Raja Rammohan Roy, Radhakanta Deb, David Hare, Rasamay Dutt, Justice Sir Edward Hyde East , Baidyanath Mukherjee, and many others.
This is a public state university in Kolkata, West Bengal, which spells heritage and culture. It is affiliated to UGC, NAAC & AIU. It can accommodate more than 2000 students.
Though formerly known as Hindu College but it’s just a name.This institution believes in secularism and gives equal opportunities to all students regardless of religion. So it is justified - What’s in name?
The eternal hero of India - Subhas Chandra Bose, time-transcending film maker and writer- Satyajit Ray , the father of ’BOSON’ and an eminent figure in quantum mechanics share the same Alma Mater~
