That Day was worst for me when I decided to buy a Glasstop Stove with a Free Chimney at Big Bazaar. There was an offer to make customers fool and give their hard-earned money to Prestige and a cut to Big Bazaar with faulty and underrated products in return.
I bought the Prestige four burners glass top stove in Jan 11 and Big Bazar provided me Prestige Chimney as an offer. When I asked the performance of chimney and stove Big Bazar team persuaded me as this is the best product in this range and it will work beyond expectation. After finalizing the deal, they provided me the packed stove and chimney, and when I asked to open and show them once they said these are the packed pieces and if there is any fault, it will get returned without hassle. I thought chances of problems in packed pieces were low, so I just picked them up paid the amount.
When I asked who will fit the chimney, Big Bazar team told me that I would require to pay around Rs 350 fitting charges and someone from Prestige service center will get this fitted. When I asked, who will inform them, they said they will inform to Prestige service center and this will get done in next three days. Also, they provided me the number of Prestige Service center to fix a time after two days so someone can be made available to entertain the service personnel.
Nothing happened in three days and when I called Big Bazaar and put this information, one of the executives told me that service personnel was not available and he will visit in next two days. I went ahead with their words and waited for two more days, but the result was zero. I called Big Bazaar again and they informed me to call at the same number that they had provided to me earlier. Finally, I made a call to Prestige Service center and explained my problem and they informed me due to some problems service personnel can’t visit immediately however they will turn up in next 2-3 days. Being a ditched customer what I could have done, I waited for 3 more days and nobody turned up. I was just out of control, I called Prestige service center and pissed on them off and the very next day service personnel was there. But, worst was yet to come!
As soon the personnel opened up the chimney box, chimney came out in pieces. It was broken and he simply said- chimney is broken and that can’t be fitted; we were needed to replace it. I immediately called up Big Bazaar and stated my problem, and they suggested in a very soothing way- please bring the chimney here that will get replaced. I left with no words but being a stupid customer I took the chimney to Big Bazar for replacement. This time I didn’t forget to get the box open and see the chimney if it was in right shape. Sigh of relief- the new chimney was in shape. But I was not known I am again jumping in the well.
I was dialing Big Bazar and Prestige to send the service personnel again, and the best answer I got from Service center that they had sent the personnel on time but what they could do if chimney was not in shape. I left with scratching my head to identify with whom I should coordinate to get this problem solved. However, I thought better to talk with Prestige service center rather Big Bazaar. Finally after 5 days, Prestige service personnel visited and he raised a new quick request- Arrange a carpenter. I was banging my head as if a carpenter was required then why he didn’t tell me earlier. Still, I didn’t lose hope talked with two-three people and arranged a carpenter at bit higher cost.
At last chimney was fitted, and personnel showed us its performance with news paper. After a week, I realized chimney is not working properly. I called up the service center last time and stated the problem and they said it might have fitted at a higher height. I was numb as carpenter was doing exactly what the service personnel instructed him to do. I put the phone down and banged my head thrice on the wall and decided not to call Prestige or Big Bazaar rather get the chimney out and throw it off.
I arranged a private service personnel and shown the chimney to him and he said the motor that has been fitted is next to worst. Also, the chimney has not been fitted at the appropriate height. I requested him what would he charge to take this chimney off. Finally, am looking for any other brand.
Worst thing is Stove has four burners but there is no indication on nobs, which one is for which burner. What a user-friendliness in Prestige products- hats off. Also, I invested Rs 400 to enhance its performance.
Am not sure if Prestige offers worst products/services in general or supplying the crap only to Big Bazar. At the end, I would like to warn readers – PLEASE DO NOT BUY PRESTIGE PRODUCTS FROM BIG BAZAAR.
