I am having a horrible experience with prestige induction stove. I took this because it was so difficult to get a gas connection in Bangalore. Instead of going for pigeon or TCL I went for Prestige thinking that it is a good brand. I bought it from the cox town Prestige showroom.
Within 1 week of usage the body of the stove started giving cracks because of heating . We initially ignored it but later it looked like the whole stove will break or explode. it was really shocking considering that this product was supposed to be safer than gas.
When I went to the Prestige showroom to give it for service they took it and took 10 days just to replace the body. I explained that I suspected the stove to overheat and this may be causing cracks and was afraid to use the same stove but the service Manager Mr. Murali said that he will replace it if I had future issues.
After comming home and using it we noticed that a strange buzzing noise comes up everytime we use it. When we contacted the Service Center they told us to ignore it.However we continued to use it and again after just 4 days the stove would not even switch ON.I spoke to the Service Center Manager and he just spoke very casually and said that he is just going to look into this . replacement was out of question though I used it for less than 2 weeks .
In the cox town service center we noticed that there were atleast about 10 induction stoves for repair. I spoke in Kannada to a guy working there in a friendly manner and told him that I was very much upset that I spent Rs. 3700 for the stove and an additional Rs.2000 to buy steel cooker as normal cookers cannot be used in it. The guy told me that lot of the induction stoves are just being returned to service centers and this is the reason for the delay in service as well.
He told me that for about 6000 I could have got a good microwave oven instead of the 5700 I spent on the stove. MY SINCERE ADVICE TO CUSTOMERS IS TO PLEASE AVOID BUYING PRESTIGE INDUCTION STOVES .
