The movie " Pride and prejudice " directed by Joe Wright is certainly a memorable watch. Keira Knightley makes Lizzie Bennett come alive as the witty , bold , ideal and innocent plain Jane , Matthew MacFayden is slightly disappointing .. however, the soulful and sullen character of Mr.Darcy is well portayed. Simon Woods plays Mr.Bingley , the lord who is quite taken with the eldest Bennett daughter, and charms the audience.Brenda Blethyln has given befitting enthusiasm to the role of Mrs Benett , who tries unbelievably hard to win her precious daughters ideal husbands.
The merry Bennet household is accurately shown, replete with laughter and petty jostles. However, precious time is wasted on some unimportant parts, leading to a somewhat hasty ending.
The picturesque countryside hills serve as Lizzie’s hideout and are captured well.
I wish some more of the trademark "Lizzie Bennett" style repartee had been included.................
It might not keep you glued to the screen , but it is a pleasant entertainer.
