Primula Cheese Spread is produced in the North East of England by a Norwegian company, Kavli, who were allegedly the first Scandinavian company to invest in the region back in 1936. Primula cheese spreads come in attractive 8 inch tubes and each tube contains 160 grams of cheese spread. There are a number of different flavours. They include Shrimp, Smoked Salmon, Garlic, Ham & Cheese and my favourite, which is Original Plain Cheese. They all have very low level of fats so they are pretty healthy. I think Primula Original Cheese Spread is awesome. It is delicious spread on a bread and butter or fresh slice of toast, and it goes nicely spread on a croissant. I also add a spray of Primula to salads and enjoy this product with the likes of water biscuits , digestive biscuit or cream crackers , with a bit of celery. This cheese spread is not only very tasty but is economical and very versatile. Primula products are tried and tested and widely available in neighbourhood grocers, cheese stores and on the shelves of supermarkets. Over the years I have found them to be an essential ingredient in my larder and they come thoroughly recommended by this reviewer.
