My name is Saddam. I received a call on 14th Feb, 2015 from priority international for getting selected in a lucky draw and collect the prize. I was asked to come with my wife for collecting the gifts and free vouchers.
As soon as we reached their hotel karl residency(Andheri west) office, we were greeted by Mr. Sameer. He gave us the information on the membership and finally after almost more than 2 hours of selling, we somehow got convinced to purchase their membership which was to be purchased on the same day(they said the scheme is valid only for today).
Initially the membership cost told to us was 2.25 Lakh rupees with a gift of iPhone 5C. We did some bargain and finally the cost was reduced to 1.70 Lakh(with no iPhone). Since we did not have this much money with us, we asked to give us an option for 24/36 EMIs. However at the same time, we made it clear to the Branch Manager Mr.majid lauda that we do not have any facility from our bank to convert the transaction into EMIs, to which he assured us that he will send an email to the bank after 24 hours of transaction to convert the transaction to EMIs.
He also offered us a discount of 20000 INR as we had to pay the interest in the EMI process, thus ultimately the membership costed us 1.5 Lakh INR. Now, when we called the customer care the next day, we were told that no such process exists and we were given false information.
At the same time, more than a week had passed and we didnt even had received any welcome call or email confirmation from priority with valid membership & login information.
On 23rd Feb, after four unsuccessful attempts we were able to reach out to the branch manager(Mr. kadar khan b) personally at office with this concern and he said he will not be able to help us since this is a sales office and only the head office at D Lane, jd, Pune will be able to solve this issue. We submitted a written application to Mr. prem in the same visit to cancel our membership and refund our money. We did take a copy of this application with his acknowledgement and acceptance by making him undersign the same. He even gave us in writing that we will get the solution next day(24th Feb) from the head office by 11 AM IST. We were expected to meet Mr. prem and HOD -.
At Head office Mr. prem told us that he will not be able to help us with this matter as he is just there to help customers with facility/sercice issues and not the false commitment / money related issues. Mr. prem(HOD) told us that he speak with Mr. Paras who had given us the commitment and revert back by evening of 24th Feb. However, after I left their head office, Mr. Paras had turned his cell phones(8882549300 / 9892354265) off and Mr. prem never answered the calls, with no courtesy of calling back. In this visit to Head office, my correct member login details were shared with me(after 10 days of payment!)
Next day(25th Feb) I got a call from Mr. Sandeep that Country Club will help me with this problem and do some adjustments in the AMC of 8500(really! against 1.5 Lakkh, these guys were speaking of 8500 INR) - I refused to accept this and disconnected the call. Later this day, I got a call from Mr. karan(at approx 8 PM) that he will give me a waiver of 30000 but the money can not be refunded since there is no cancellation policy with priority. He tried to put the blame on me that my credit card doesnt have the EMI option is not really their concern and he never told me of a process where he will write to the bank(heights of untruthfulness!). I had to remind him that he had acknowledged and accepted a letter by undersigning which states clearly that priority will write an email to the bank. By end of the discussion, he told me that he will again speak with his manager - according to him, he didnt find it right to speak with the manager at around 8.30 PM IST to solve my problem. After hearing this from him, I tried calling Mr. prem but the call was kept on waiting and till now I have never got a call back from him as a professional courtesy.
I have made my mind to seek help from Indian Law Authority for helping me out from their trap.
Just a request to everyone, please dont listen to these guys, they will do whatever it takes for you to pay your hard earned money for the membership and will never accept their false commitments and mistakes later on.
