Protein is a building block used in the human body for growth and development of the same. Proteins are made up of amino acids of which some are essential and some non-essential. In other words some amino acids are produced in the body while the others are not. Hence in order for the body to grow and sustain, protein is  required to be supplied externally. For an individual the amount of protein requirement is at least 1gm per kg body weight. however we even fail to meet this minimum  requirement due to our eating lifestyle. If an individual wants to develop muscles he would have to consume extra protein as a supplement to meet the needs of enhanced musculature that he is aiming at.

When I first stepped into muscle building arena I knew the importance of protein and hence was looking for a decent supplement to fulfill my needs. This is when I came across Protinex and it’s true that one gets befooled by the name itself.

Let us now dissect the nutritional facts about this so claimed amazing product. 100 gm powder would provide 32 gm proteins which is pretty decent a number, but that is not where it ends. It also gives  over 400 kcal of energy and 54 gm carbohydrates. Out of the 54 gm carbohydrates 30 gm is sugar. That’s a hell lot of sugar and perhaps as much as protein. Do you know that any excess carbohydrates which in this case is 54gm is converted into fat and stored in the body. Hence if you are just consuming this drink along with this high GI carbohydrate you are bound to gain weight but too much far as well. Furthermore this high GI carbohydrates increases the blood sugar level in the body and that cause quite a lot of physiological changes. Hence if you want to gain fat and  meet your protein requirement feel free to purchase this product that causes a toll on your budget.

I would suggest to opt for more natural sources of protein like chicken, fish, egg whites if you are a non vegetarian or sattu, Rajma, chana, dal if you are a vegetarian. In fact 100gm sattu will give you 23 gm protein and carbohydrates which is low in GI ( Glycemic Index)
