Provoked is an odd to women, who are been nailed with the thought that their "pati" are "parmeshwar". Hence they are expected to bear all the atrocities committed upon them. A real and more simplistically an emotional ballad all the way coming from the maker of "bawander" and "Kamla".
Though the maker is always associated with bold and sex lured explicit flicks, herein he proves his prowress in the emotional and social saga as well. Accolades to the idea and the responsibility with which he has carried the whole scenario.
one cant feel detached and unmoved by the depiction of batterred woman in the movie, untill one is so -called stone hearted and devoid of human feelings.

Story in nut-shell: -
Kiranjit Ahluwalia is married to an NRI whom she finds later to be sleeping with anybody and everybody. He finds pleasure in torturing his wife and raping her. one fine day Kiranjit sets him to fire and is imprisoned. Its here that she learns English and comes to know of her rights.
However, its difficult to believe that a lady as beautiful as Kiranjit is not exploited in the prison cell.
She is joined by Nandita, from south hall black sisters fraternity in her war against the brutalities and "social-stigma".
But what happens towards the end, is for the viewers to find out. So if you have heart and feelings then its must watch for you.
*Performance:
*The movie completely belongs to Aishwarya Rai, and after watching nobody can deny that she does complete justice to her part. Her ever expressive eyes says it all. She depicts the meotions so well, that being a guy, tears simpy trolled down my eyes. I was overcome and at the same time could feel what the lady must have gone through.
Hats off to Kiranjit, who won over the world with her determination and firm belief.
However, I feel actor of Nanditas caliber has been wasted in the movie. She could have been given some more space to show her talent, that everybody is gaga about.
The english, sorry I dont remember their names, are all plastic. I peronally feel the Indian mass who consider Aish plastic should pay attention to these actors from foreign land and then they might realise what PLASTIC actually means.
*Music:
*Music coming from the desk of maestro A R Rehman is a miss. I feel it could have been more soul stirring and not as subtle as it is. However, no denying the genius n him.
What do I feel:
As I already said that I cried like a baby in the movie, it shows that I was really touched. But movie could have been better if the director could have paid little attention in research work and in his actor selection process.
Aish is the winner all the way and this is her best performance till date. Great gift to her beau and herself for marriage. The english version is more appealing as compared to Hindi and would suggest all and sundry to go andcheck out teh english version instead of the Hindi.since Hindi doesnt convey what the english one does.
Trivia: -
The Southall Black Sisters, an organisation that helped Kiranjit, panned the book feel the movie hasfactual and legal inaccuracies.
