Pulp fiction

The movie:

If you are a great movie buff and very fond of movies this is one movie you will not want to miss. Like in every field where variety is the spice of life, in the field of movies too don’t you think that what we are compelled to watch each and every day on screen, on telivison is just the bunch of stories we knew from ages and the same things repeated in number of movies, a kinda beating around the bush.

Like there was a revoution in every thing in the eignteenth century in the name of renaissance, that was the time when every thing was changed or redifined I think here are some guys who wants to bring about a change or a renaissance in the field of movies. And the director of this movie Quentin Tarantino is one I suppose.

The director:

Supposed to be a owner of a video store, (like our own Ram gopal verma), aka the video store whizkid, for Quentin Tarantino the director of pulp fiction it was his directorial debut which brought him no oscars I suppose but 8 nominations. Which

itself is a great achivenment in terms of appreciation for his dirctorial talent. Infact there are hardly any movies which fall into this genre of movies.

The story:

This story is not a great story but presented with a great style, a style which is so uncommon that you will hardly be able to find any other movies with this type of narration. A simple story about a bunch of guys who has got their own stories and appear unrelated and how these unrelated stories of them form one fantastic story in the end keeps the audience more interested in the movie than any other movie.

The technique:

Most of the times people find it worth reading a book then watching it as a movie. I think it is because of the conventional methododlogy that was adopted in film making. From the beginning the narration of a movie took a complete different path from the narration as in a book. People even complained that cinema doen’t have the freedom as of a book.

In a book the narration can be in the most non linear way which can be attributed to many things. Where as a movie has got it’s own limitations like time. But here is one movie which has got a narration style like a book. The first and foremost thing that resembles the narration style like a book is the division of movies into chapters and telling a different story in each chapter and in the end how these stories make up a great story like a book is the USP of this movie.

Other things:

As far as I know there are as many people who like this movie as there are who hate this movie. Watch this movie if you are open minded. There is lots of violence, drugs and the F word used hunderds and hundreds of time. When it comes to the acting it is quite natural you will not notice many thing extraordinary as far as the acting is considered may be because the casting is so perfect that the actors fit into their roles so naturally.
