Bus stands provide better facilities

This is one airport which is one of its kind and now they seems to have started international flights from here as well.

First thing, the airport is probably one of the smallest/may be the smallest in country. The stalls inside the airport sell stuff without any price tag on it and hence can charge whatever they want.

Personal exp with the one stall in the main lounge. Went to buy some chiwda and chikki and was surprised to see no price tag on them.

Another unique thing about this air port is that you can’t park your vehicle overnight. Now with the airport being outside city, you have two options, either ask some one to drop and pick you OR else pay whatever the rick/taxi guys ask for. Though there is a pre paid auto stand but dunno on what basis they charge the money. Once I have taken a rick from Ruby Hall to the Air port, I was asked for half return as they don’t get passengers. So I agreed to pay half return on meter. On meter it came around 48 so I paid 70 including half return. When I came back and went to the pre paid booth, they asked me 100 till ruby hall. Now when I asked on what basis they are charging 100 they asked me to take a rick from outside if I’m not happy with the pre paid charges.

Walked towards outside and got a rick easily when I offered him 70 for Ruby Hall.

There were some news that these people want to make a international airport some 20km more outside the city, will they care to explain how people are supposed to go and come back from there OR they want us to be taken for a ride by these auto and taxi guys? I’ll suggest them to first make overnight parking provisions at the airport, even bus stands got paid parking.
