Being a "mumbai"kar there is always a silent war with puneites. But I have to say the city is really pathetic in terms of anything you talk abt except nature.
The people here are so adamant that they will always try to get physical if you have any argument. Just to tell one incident, I was on my bike way to Kalyani nagar via University road and was in the left lane of the road. Suddenly one idiot, with cap on this head and lady sitting behind, took left turn without any signal nothing. I had to blow horn and I just passed by him. At the next signal the idiot came next to me and started fighting with me saying "Tu ghait aahe ka?(are you in hurry?).. "Punyamadhe yeun cut nahi marayche(Don’t overtake anybody in pune)".
At first I didn’t even recognize him and he was ready to fight thinking I am non "Marathi"(Even though I am proper mumbaikar that too Marathi only). He was such a pathetic guy, never acknowledged his mistake instead wanted to blame me for blowing horn and going past him though it was him who had made a mistake. Such bu s t attitude the people here have.This is a common attitude with the people here. Driving on pedestrian ways and from wrong sides is a common site here. Anybody can drive anywhere its like "Stray DOGS" roaming anywhere they want.
The reality prices are sky high without any fundamental infrastructure development. The politicians the people here are so corrupt that they dont even bother abt the situation.
If you ask why I am staying here even after so many issues, well my answer would be only for my JOB. I am bit unlucky when it comes to finding job in my home town "MUMBAI" which is truly a very good metro city to live. Surely I will move out of Pune in near future.
