Punjab university chandigarh is one of the oldest university in india .it was established in 1882 in lahore .After the partition of hindustan it is shifted to chandigarh.Currenty it is situated in sector 14 in union territory chandigarh.it is one of the university which maintain its prestige and decoram till this time.it always remain in top ten in India.
As far as research area is concerned it is no 1 university in india.any one can compare it to indian institute of science and banglore.so we can say this university is renowned only for doctoral program and fellowship.if we talk about its undergraduate lrogra then it is good but not as good as its post graduate program .if we look this university professionally , then it is a good professional universitu not best professional university.so finally it is well respected university and I have proud of being part of it.
