By chance I landed up at the new Punjabi by nature restaurant next to Christ College by the Dairy circle Bannerghatta road. I was indeed very lucky since not only was the food great there, but they also have a microbrewery.
Though only lagers were on the menu, I was reminded of the Lionbrau german beer I had in Munich. I went for the medium beer, they also have a mild and strong variety. So far as food goes, I am a vegetarian so I had only Paneer. The kulchas were huge (1 foot dia) and as good as the ones I had on a dhaba on the way from
Agra to Bharatpur, which I still remember 20 years later.
(Living in Bangalore you do miss Punjabi food that much)
The menu was limited but sufficient punjabi fare you can wish for - and anyway when there is good beer
the length of the menu is not important. The ambiance was really great. The restaurant is half open and half closed. There is a huge waterfall which we sat next to. Each table is situated so that there is sufficient privacy between sections. If you are planning a beer party with friends in south bangalore and are OK with spending for the ambiance (195 for a pint) go for this restaurant.
For my family Punjabi Times opposite to the Shoppers stop (Bannerghatta Road) has been the regular haunt. Now there is 1 more place to add for the Punjabi food.
BJN group better watch out, there are good restaurants coming up from other people in Bangalore.
