If you are going with metro then go to blue line and then stop at Pragati maidan come down from here and take a auto they will drop you at exactly purana qila gate the local sightseeing is very good this is a historical place and very peaceful. yes if you have good budget you can get 3 star or 5 star hotels but not near the purana qila and there are many sellers who gives good food with affordable cost. This place is as safe as much at your friends home. There is also guards who will help you
