Use this if you can risk drinking polluted water

This seems like a great product at an economical cost for basic water purification where the supply water quality is broadly good. It preserves the essential minerals in the water and hence is better than RO water purifiers.

However, I recently discovered that there is no quality control for the water delivered. The only control is the purifying battery indicator turning Red. However, in this case the indicator never turned Red. We noticed some lichen in the water compartment and called the service engineer. He replaced the battery but could not offer any explanation for the lichen. When pushed for an explanation, the technician mentioned it was due to sunlight exposure while there is no sunlight at all where the purifier is kept.

Multiple calls and visits have not given us a satisfactory explanation for the failure. We are keeping our fingers crossed and using bottled mineral water instead. So, if you care about quality control of the water you drink, please stay away from Pureit.
