Marvel RO Purifier - Faulty product

This my view and experience of using Marvel RO purifier for last 2-3 weeks. I live in Koramangala, Bangalore and purchased this product by Mid Jan-2014 from Hindustan Unilever dealer / Sales Manager (Rajesh) directly.


The following are the list of problems I faced and currently this product is not functioning:


Problem#1

  1. After installation I am advised by the ’Pureit’ engineer to dispense the first two full tanks and use the 3rd one for drinking. After I empty 2 tanks, It started to leak from the ’logo’ area strange!. Problem even before I take 1 cup of purified water.

I called the Sales Manager and the guy installed the product, I am directed to call the service manager and someone came fixed saying the inner water pipe got unplugged, and he put some ’old’ news paper to support that. Not sure how this has passed the QA Test and why you need a ’old’ newspaper support for a brand new product from Hindustan Unilever.


Problem#2:

  1. We used the purifier for few more days and then we were off from the city for a week. On our return I start to use the purifier, It took 3-4 hours to fill the tank and very next day onwards it failed to dispense water and if you switch on the purifier it makes the sound as if it is functioning, but actually it is not and it doesn’t dispense water. Now again call sales manager, who asked me to call the service center and register a complaint, and advised it could be air blockage.

In my view, the product is faulty. Why would me as a customer needs to call customer care and service center, as the product is not even 1 month old and it is not functioning the way it is designed for.


When I write this the Pureit engineer said he will come today evening to take look at this. I will keep posting the updates.


In short I am not happy with the product & dissatisfied with it. I won’t recommend this to my friends and relatives.
