You get what you pay for

I bought the Pureit purifier recently as I was curious about how it works and the price was also an attractive consideration.  It’s been a month or so and so far, everything has been working fine.

I was initially concerned about chlorine smell in the water, but when the water finally comes out of the tap, it actually has no chlorine smell and tastes neutral.  A huge plus is the fact that this thing does not need any plumbing or electricity to work as it has no UV technology.  The downside is that it takes up as much space on your kitchen counter as one of the legacy water filters did.  After a month, I’m beginning to think the tap may not be of great quality as the "newness" in the action is no longer present and I’m afraid that it may start leaking soon. (BUT IT HAS NOT LEAKED SO FAR).

At the end of the day, I think it is good value for money and considering that not everyone in India can afford one of the more fancy Aquaguard things, the guarantee of safe drinking water that leads to most of the sicknesses we encounter in India is a Huge PLUS!

This will also serve as a great substitute for the almost useless water filters that really do nothing in terms of eliminating / purifying the disease causing bacteria etc in the water.  If you are thinking of buying a new water filter, this is what you need if you have a low budget.
