Just want to warn people who want to buy this product.....PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE dont buy it...I came to mumbai in november 2007..we were 6 guyz who got selected in a sofware company. So after finding a home the next hunt was for potable water..we went to malls and found that purifiers are simply very costly..we were just thinking of buying a local product when we came across a showroom of this hindustan unilever pureit..we were very happy as we got the product for just 1600..we tried to bargain but of no use...
Well..we bought it and life was good for 2 weeks or so..when one of us opened it one day to find a layer of dirt..well being dutiful people we atrted cleaning the thing everyday after that..but still we found some layer of greenish yellow thing which was just refusing to leave the surface..we just found this increasing everyday..so finally we called those people...
Well..then started our woeful journey..they came and inspected and told that they havent seen this thing happening till this day..anywaz ..we will take it to our scientists..after a week or so when we have shelled out enough for bisleri bottles, the pureit guyz called..they told they are coming and they have replaced the top chamber...
When they came I told them..bhaiyaa..this thing spreads..its there in the lower chamber also..well he didnt aggree..he just took it and cleaned it wit all his might.leaving small traces of it..he told this would be it..i told I can bet u will be back in a week...well..and for sure we had to call them to show the gruesome scene...
The water was smelling over that greenish yellow thing...then he told I cant do anything..i will call the boss...and one more thing..the filter was obnoxious..t was ugly.the boss came and we explained everything to himm..but as usual he wasnt convinced and he told he will take up the matter with his senior scientist..and again they were gone for 2 weeks...
And when they came back they replaced everything except the top chamber..i was astonished and I told to the boss what happened the last time.. I told him its just 2 months since I bought this thing and now it is giving this strange problem.its in its gaurantee perios..why cant you just replace it fully...he told he can do only this much..well..
We had no other choice..we used it again for 1 week..and then ..well next day we were in the mall and bought a new water purifier eureka forbes for 7000...and its working fine till now..for the last 3 months...i wonder why we bought that and still it is lying in one corner of our house...
And I do wonder why they have increased the cost from 1600 to 1800...they tell it gives water which is similar to boiled water and ours was growing some algae alongwith...and they blamed the water we were getting at our home..as if we were the only people in the huge flat to get bad water in the kitchen...and they do specify in the catalogue proudly that this thing can purify any sort of water..i wonder what type of water it can purify..
This is one product I recommend you to never buy and by chance if you have bought please get rid of it as soon as possible..i still rmember the daz when we were down with this unusual fever which we though twas because of the weather..but now we know who the culprit is..anywaz..if u want to know more please send me a mail..or if you want to come and see u r all welcome to our flat to see that thing with the algae layer..
