For a family of 2, I bought Pureit Advanced considering that we don’d have hard water in my area and that it was cheap, with a little inconvenience of manually filling the water for purification.
I got this product in March 2013 for Rs.2800, and since then have spent additional Rs.1000 in servicing and the filter changes. This is a scam product by HUL, they earn more than what you would pay for a proper UV+RO water filter in a year, by luring the customer with low initial cost. I expected filter changes but maybe twice or thrice a year, requirement of changing it every 1.5-2 months is pure cheating by HUL.
When their technician came to install it, they said that the filter (which is by the way 1500 liters capacity), would run for at least 4 months, and then if I buy the new one with double the capacity, we are done for the year. 1500 liters in 2 months??? As per them my average daily consumption of water is 25 liters between 2 person per day. I can’t believe this, and have to attribute this as a scam by HUL.
I guess if you do drink water every day, you are better off buying a proper electric purifier by Aquaguard or Kent, then wasting money on this one.
