Well, I think there wont be enough words to describe my out of the world experience I had this vacation. This year I explored the city of Jagannath temple i.e. Puri. Puri is locally known as Shrikhetra and is situated near the Bay of Bengal in the state of Odisha. This place is famous for its ancient temple of Lord Jagannath, a form of Lord Vishnu. The center of attraction of Puri is the Jagannath temple which holds the 80% economy of Puri town.
Accessibility: -The citys nearest airport is in Bhuvneshwar which is only 2 hours away. And its connectivity is from all over India. From there you can come to Puri via train, city bus or via hiring a rental car.
Local sightseeing: The first place you must visit is the Jagannath temple which is one of the Char Dham pilgrimage sites, found at four cardinal points of India. Jagannath temple is an exquisite example of art and Indian culture and its Prashad is mouthwatering. Then there is pure beach which covers Jagannath temple from one side. Because of the beach, the weather is always soothing. The place is always filled with tourists but its worth going there. Then not so far there is Chilika Lake which is Asias largest brackish water lagoon. Its basically famous for its vast variety of birds. You can visit Chilika wildlife sanctuary where you will see the most beautiful sunrise and sunset. Konark temple also nearby and it depicts the chariot of Lord Surya.
Accommodation: -The hotels here are always crowded with tourists and because of that their facilities are always up to the mark. For the luxurious room, you can get rooms in hotel holiday resort, Chanakya BNR hotel. I was staying in hotel Sagar Tarang residency and they provided satisfactory services and coupons to few restaurants because we were staying there for a long time. Hence you wont face any difficulties in finding the hotel of your budget.
Safety: -Puri is a religious destination so most of the population is very calm and they have deep-rooted their culture. Because of that, they are mostly helping and polite. The city is always live with the artist, bhajans and beaches are always filled with people of all over the world.
Conclusion: -If you are planning a family trip or a trip with friends I would definitely recommend this place. This place will give you the religious satisfaction of your mind as well as fulfill your fun side. Hope you like this. Jai Jagannath!
