Whats a Jimmi Hendrix theme pub that hardly plays any of his numbers ? The walls are adorned with ornate backlight tainted glass pictures of renowned musicians; Jimmi Hendrix, Frank Zappa, Steve Vai, Jim Morrison and the Ozzman (for those who came in late: Ozzy Osborne, the vocalist with the most haunting vocal chords is also called Ozzman).
Incidently these expensive tainted-glass pictures seem incongruous as the DJ hardly plays any numbers of Frank Zappa or Jimmi Hendrix. Just two days back I was there with my friend and expecting a Jimmi Hendrix theme pub to be well stocked with all his albums we asked the DJ to play Red House(A very popular number which is also performed by guitar gods like Joe Satriani and Steve Vai in his tribute), much to our dismay he gave us a blank stare which spoke loudly that he did not have it.
Credit should be given where its due, It has good interiors with randomly arranged blue colored soft lights shining from the ceiling. They fail to make sense at first but as I was told, they are arranged in the form of the Great Bear constellation.
The music played here is exclusively rock, rock and roll, hard rock and sporadically some country. The monotony of the music sometimes gets irksome. After a couple of frequentations you can figure out what kinda music to expect. The DJ seriously needs to open his horizons to a more diverse choice.
Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays are so intensely populated that there were times when I had to stand and have beer !!
Draught Beer is served with a variety of other cocktails and liquors. Beverages are mildly expensive (But TGIF and 180-Proof wins it hands down for overpricing). The snacks are unnecessarily overpriced, but again nothing to beat TGIF and 180-Proof.
If you are the type of person who swears by the choice of music you listen to, being rock, then this is the best place for you.
