I was on my way to watch movie "The Hangover", a laugh-till-you-cry movie in PVR-Bangalore after work. I reached the enterance 5-mins before the scheduled time of the start of movie. There’s this regular security check, where they never allow you to outside food in cinema hall. A rule which we all have gotten used to. But what I never knew is that PVR also has rule which doesn’t allow you to carry your laptops inside the theater. The worst part is that the staff there are very rude. They will point you the rule written somewhere on some wall saying carrying laptops inside the theatre is prohibited.
Well it’s not very bad if there’s this rule to prevent people from carrying latop inside, I guessed there must be a valid reason for this. So I ask them "Where can I deposit my laptop?". I get a rude reply "Neeche jaaoo" ("Go down"). For all those who haven’t been to PVR, the multiplex screens are on the 4th floor and PVR don’t have any place to deposit your belongings.
So they point you to deposit all your luggage at some place on the ground floor outside-round the parking area place. By the time I reached the luggage room (which is difficult to find), I had lost 10-mins of movie. Well nothing wrong here too... but think of this, you go for a movie, they tell you "you can’t carry your laptops inside" and then they tell you "go down from 4th floor to Gnd-Floor" to deposit your luggage and when you finally find the hidden luggage room, there’s a big board on the luggage room saying "The management is not responsible for loss of your valuables and luggage".
This really pissed me off... I thought this is something I should write and let everyone know about this place and the nonsense rules they have. I guess that was the last visit for me to the PVR. Pass this information along to all your friends.
