All about growing up

I like Rahul bose.... he does not do run of the mill stuff and openly says "Repetition is death". With a philosophy like that there is very little scope for failure. But lets not forget that there is always scope for improvement. I decided to watch Pyar Kay Side Effects to see how the movie can capture the lighter side of love. What I ended up noticing was that the movie has actually decided to capture the light and the dark side of love. I think from a guys perspective the movie is all about men like me.. who refuse to grow up. We can have hobs, a steady income but inside we have just stopped growing up. The moview is the story of a married man (an expecting father), and two DJs. Rahul Bose is in love with Malika Sehrawat and when she proposes marriage Rahul reacts like any guy would react he is confused and cannot say yes outright. I was laughing out aloud when Malika proposes and Rahul is stunned and speachless. I could swear that the writer had experience such a thing it was that real. Not ot mention that Rahul was actually watching a cricket match during the whole episode. I simply loved the way Rahul actually starts a scoring counter when he tries to make up with Malika and how the moment Malika starts crying the counter starts running madly in her favour. So true. Coming back to the plot, I don’t think the writer had a love story in mind when he wrote this movie, he wanted to actually show how the 25-30 age group of this country is trying to grow up or rather refusing to grow up. There is a sense of money and awareness but when it comes to responsibility they all want to look the other way. Kudos to the writer for that aspect, I could relate to it and it actually did make me realise what a baby I have been with my girl friends some times. Malika has done a decent job by doing two things, one keeping her clothes on and two by actually acting. Not bad maybe she should do more roles like this and stop asking for condoms at the chemist. However the one place where the movie does loose out is the length of the movie, I think it should have been a crisp affair not more than 2 hours and I am waiting for the day when Bollywood starts taking the hint from Hollywood. Do I recommend the movie yes, especially to all the guys out there who are still wondering what they are doing in life. Also I enjoyed the title track its really funky. In my view its worth a watch. As always I have not revealed the plot as I think that is a form of piracy too.
