Today, approx 42 hours after I came out of the theatre, my heart wants to yell out one of most cliched dialogues of our films - Yeh dekhne se pehle...mein mar kyun nahi gaya...buhuu...uhuuu..uhuu..
May be the controversy of lifting the story frm a southern hit might do some unwanted good to the film, but if its a remake of a big hit and a brillinant & sensitive theme, then its not a remake, its rape!
Direction is as focussed as a needle-less compass. Characters are half baked, some being hypnotised to believe that they can act. An array of TV artists (we know how well most of them can act) appear in lead character roles.
For the story, remember the evergreen Thoda Hai Thode Ki Zaroorat Hai, where two elderly people from two different familes decide to marry, when each of them have grown up, married children of their own. It was a Hrishikesh Mukherjee film and is still thouroghly enjoyable. Pyaar mein Twist, attempts a modern day version of the same plot, and..leaves ur sensibilities aching.
Rishi and Dimple look great, but what a sad way to stage a bobby-pair comeback.
Theres actually no point in going thru subplots and more. Satish Shah and Farida Jalaal too end up as stupid charicatures. Music..?..uhhu..uhu....uhhu....
But I was just thinking, I mean on humanitarian grounds, that if we all discard and turn our back towards Pyaar Mein.. , then wont the poor thing be left alone?
No way, its got Barsaat and Aashiq Banaaya....for the company.
