Watched Darr anybody? Well, the story line of film Pyaar Tune Kya Kiya is some what taken more or less from the same film. Urmila plays the poor, lil’ rich kid, Ria, spoilt to the bones while Fardeen Khan does the Shah Rukh Khan act. Urmila is cool and sizzling at the same time, looking luscious in amazing designer wear. Amid picturesque background and marvelous camera work, the two fall in love. Now comes the daal mein kaala. Enter Sonali Kulkarni, who is Khan’s wife. This is where the story draws you into the thick of the matter. With the appearance of Kulkarni, Ria’s world falls apart. PTKY is all about how Urmila battles with these realities and more.
Urmila is competent in her role. But one can’t help feeling that she has not been able to do her best. She has been unable to convey the passions one would except from a person who’s love has been in danger of by the existence of another. Kulkarni, surprisingly delivers the punch. She has been able to translate into action the emotions with flair
Fardeen Khan is the other surprise of the film. He is modest and comes as a breath of fresh air. It is evident that the masses have finally accepted him. ’
‘PTKK’ is all is a lustrous film. It’s about contemporary times. There is none of the old film tinge in this one. Urmila’s clothes reek of it. The cinematography reeks of it. The performance and the story are faultless. Here’s another Ram Gopal Verma fare to sink your teeth into.
