Good comedy

Remake of See No Evil, Pyare Mohan is engaging, but in parts.Though a major part of the film is a love story, the writer and director team have infused gags and witty one-liners in the screenplay to give the film a comi look.

Fardeen Khan is blind and Vivek Oberoi is deaf. Both ex stuntmen in films, they have now used all their savings to buy an Archies Cards shop which they run together. Both are on the look out, figuratively speaking, for the love of their lives. This happens when they run into two bimbettes Esha Deol and Amrita Rao when out jogging.

But the girls reject them, though they are not averse to spending all their time with the boys. They, it seems, want complete men. On this emotional note, the film reaches mid point.

The girls on the way to Bangkok, learn some secrets about a dreaded don, Boman Irani. He is out to kill them, they get arrested, the boys come to the rescue, they run etc etc.

The comedy depicted in the film is not the David Dhawan brand of humour that appeals instantly. It is more of is sober and at times, classy. The first half has several enjoyable moments, specially Esha-Fardeen track. Even the placement of songs is perfect here. But the pace gets uneven in the second half, which is the main drawback of this enterprise.

The trouble with the screenplay is that in the post-interval portions, the pace drops at regular intervals. It gets slow, picks up again, turns slow yet again, but gathers momentum all over again in the climax.

Director Indra Kumar has developed the drama welL.Music is easy on the ears. The title track and angel are well-worded and decent compositions. The picturisation of all the songs is first-rate.

Indra Kumar shows a flair for light entertainers. The dialogues penned are witty, Cinematography is excellent.

Vivek is extremely competent. Fardeen plays to the gallery and gives a good account of himself. Both the heroines, Esha and Amrita, don’t get enough scope to display histrionics.Boman Irani is fantastic as don

On the whole, Pyare Mohan is a timepass film !
