On the 4th of January my boyfriend and I flew from London heathrow, back to Hong Kong where we have recently moved to.I chose to fly with Qatar, as I have flown with them before and had no problems.
This time however was a different story, when we arrived in Hong Kong, one of our suitcases never came through at reclaim.
The assistants at HK airport were quick to help, taking down our details and assured us we would recieve contact within 48 hours.Nearly 4 weeks later, NOT one person has contacted us. Instead we have had to make several calls to HK airport and London heathrow. I have also emailed HK airport, Qatar airways, Doha airport and London Heathrow. AND travelled to HK airport on 4 occassion to chased them up - costing us a total of HK$500.
NO one at Qatar as been able to help or offer their apologies. When I called the Qatar help desk at heathrow, iwas subjected to loud back ground noise and the most un helpful assistant. All they could do was pass on the resposiblilty to HK airport.. It seems no one has any idea where the suitcase is or if it will ever be found. I think this is disgraceful, how can luggage that is apprently barcoded and tagged to enable tracing, not even be located to which COUNTRY its even in.
So far we have only received HK$780, roughly 50 GBpounds. How is this going to help my boyfriend who has very little clothing here. I now have to wait 3 weeks to hear back from Qatar regards to insurance claims and then it could possible be another 4 months untill we MAY receive any money back. I just want my suitcase back. I will never travel with Qatar airways again, as the lack of compassion and help to our situation has put me off incase this happens again!!!
