I worked for this company( http://www.Quest-Global.com) in a specialized field(hardy 1/2 dozen professionals at that time in whole of India), they were paying me 1/2 the market rate and since the company was very small all HR decisions were taken by Ajit Prabhu.
When works didn’t come all of a sudden one day Ajit called me and told me to take salary cut to aid salary for new joiners. I refused and informed him I already getting 1/2 of market rate. So after two days his assistant Priya Raj informed me that my salary will be paid a month late. Then to my surprise my access card was also disabled temporarily. System admin informed me some problem with s/w, but how could access card work fine for others and only mine is not working. So in the evening I resigned and joined MNC for 3 times the salary at Quest.
One of my friend(PhD, IISc, Bangalore)who worked on developing a software was given target as 31st March so that he cannot link salary rise for next year. They made him work day and night and he finally succeeded in completing the work set by Aravind Mallikeri.
Following weeks, to his shock he was not appraised at all for next year, while all employees were appraised. When contacted Ajit/Aravind assistants, they informed that his appraisal will be only done after 2 months. The s/w developed was succesfully used by quest to partner with another firm, they even made money Aravind during the last week of work also got to know how the software works and knew how to make changes if needed. My friend was discarded like this, his last salary was also not paid, he too joined MNC for 3 times quest salary.
During our times, there was GM(General Motors) team many were from IITs and were paid 8K as salary, and were given so called specialized training in lieu of agreement/bond. Due to pressure of lot of work & low salary all quit in a matter of weeks after joining.
One more sinister motive of Ajit is that he feels great if people flock around him and massage him with all gossiping going on in the company. Pravin Gurav was one such person who was used by Ajit to extract negative information from all other employees, at last he too faced same AXE of ajit, he was kicked out in the same manner as other. I agree Pravin played a role in building QuEST, but he had his own sinister motive, more than 9 IITians left Quest, b’cos he pinned them with Ajit’s Support.
Now the QUEST DNA is like this,
- They fix what you are worth, they expect you to accept this and live with it happily*
- You are not supposed to ask anything xtra, if you do, your access card will malfunction*
- Overall Quest is a stingy company, as many have said, you will feel like a street dog which is fed with only left-overs they can close the gate anytime on you, at QUEST you are not like a home bred dog, which is taken care of my the master very well.*
The company has grown now, but I hear the same attitude by Ajit & Aravind, who have sinister motive of making employees work like their personal servants and derive happiness that they are like kings. I have work experience in about 6 companies in last 20 odd years, I still find quest is the worst company and no employee feels he gains something being there, instead he always feels he giving something by working out his sweat & blood.
The complaints of poor HR shows how much Ajit is bothered, b’cos I guess HR comes directly under him.
And for all the readers, == there are more QUESTians in other companies put-together that at QUEST’s present strength==. Quest has been a benevolent supplier of engineers to other companies, thanks for it’s stinginess. Even if you join Quest you will soon become an’EX-Questian’.
I also echo other’s voice, engineering service is now panned across major IT companies, these companies have transparency & also much better employee centric policies. If you have a question mark on my review talk to ex-questians themselves and then decide.
Never join Quest, join and enjoy working like maids/servants for Ajit/Aravind who are keeping all accounting in secrecy since it’s inception.
I have heardly heard about quest since last few years, but I know Ajit & Aravind very well, they are big cheats who use employees to their own ends and then discard them at will.
