It was my misfortune to order a gift for someone I know on Magickart.in First of all Magickart didnt inform me when the product was dispatched. I had to mail them and call them repeatedly - only then did I get the product tracking information. It was then the situation went from the proverbial frying pan to the fire.
The courier theyd chosen was Quantium Solutions, a bunch of thuggish thieves apparently run by Singapore Post (shame on you Singapore Post, for running such an unethical, unprofessional outfit). The product landed in Bangalore from Bombay on May 11 9:35 AM. It wasnt delivered the same day. On Monday, May 13 2013, seeing no movement on the online tracker, I called Quantiums Lalbagh Road office at around 2 pm. I had to call three times and was put on hold for more than two to three minutes each time.
When I finally reached a human being, I was told that they might deliver it today or tomorrow. Apparently Quantium Solutions delivers only when the mood strikes them. I sent a mail to both Quantium and Magickart and got a response from Quantiums Chennai office by phone. Sometime around 5 pm, after much phoning and to and fro, the package was finally delivered. The recipient (not me) was asked to pay the cost of the item as the obese Quantium Solutions delivery man said that it was a "cash on delivery" purchase. This was FALSE. I had paid Magickart on ordering the item. So the recipient basically paid Rs. 250 and I had paid Rs. 250 as well when ordering the item initially.
Of course, once the package was opened, it was found that it was not what Id ordered, but a completely different item.
So basically Magickart and Quantium Solutions are in cahoots, cheating customers out of their money. Avoid them at all costs. Just a useful tip for all those embracing Indias e-retailing revolution: check for tie-ups between these cut price merchants and courier frauds. And if they cheat you, publicize it as loudly as possible on social media and sites like this. We dont have proper regulators in place who fine white collar criminals like Magickart and Quantium. So we really have to crowdsource and share information on the practices of these businesses.
