Quantum of Solace continues the high octane adventures of James Bond fromCasino Royale. Picking up literally days where the previous film left off, after being betrayed by Vesper, the woman he loved, 007 fights the urge to make his latest mission personal. Having captured Mr. White, and in pursuing his determination to uncover the truth, Bond andM interrogate Mr. White who reveals the organisation which blackmailed Vesper to steal Bonds casino winnings is far more complex and dangerous than anyone had imagined.
Forensic intelligence links an MI6 traitor to a bank account in Haiti where a case of mistaken identity introduces Bond to the beautiful but feisty Camille, a woman who has her own vendetta. Camille leads Bond straight to Dominic Greene, a ruthless business man and major force within the mysterious criminal organisation known only asQuantum. On a mission that leads him to Austria, Italy and South America, Bond discovers that Greene, conspiring to take total control of one of the worlds most important natural resources, is forging a deal with the exiled General Medrano. Using his associates in the organisation, and manipulating his powerful contacts within the CIA and the British government, Greene promises to overthrow the existing regime in Bolivia, giving General Medrano control of the country in exchange for a seemingly barren piece of land which is, however, a main source of the South American water supply.
In a minefield of treachery, murder and deceit, Bond allies with old friends in a battle to uncover the truth. As he gets closer to finding the man responsible for the betrayal of Vesper, 007 must keep one step ahead of the CIA, the terrorists, and evenM herself, to unravel Greenes sinister plan and stop Quantum from getting its way. Ok that is the movie is short, its quite thirlling to watch. Quite a treat for the 100th year birth annivesary of Ian Fleming.
The plot unravels slowly but steadily and smoothly. We need to be with the movie, hear every word and understand every action - inshort we need to be with the movie thru-out. Want to tell certain interesting stuff regarding the movie
Bond is never introduced in the movie in the typical "My name is Bond, James Bond" style.
No where he is asks for "Martini, Shaken and not stirred", instead he gobles down whisky!
Movie more of a revenge story unravelling a bigger mystery rather than a true spy espionage story.
Nothing special about the Bonds car other than it being an Aston Martin.
This is one of the shortest bond movies .
This is a direct sequel to Casino Royale and the movie takes lot of references and characters repeating in the various plots.
Also movie marks the return of semi-clad / naked girls dancing in the opening title sequence, a trademark of the series. Please notice this was not there in Casino Royale.(please cross check, correct if I am wrong)
The opening song is pathetic. Does not catch the 007 mood at all. even madonna was better with Die another day, the best I believe being Tina Turner. So that is what I think about the 22nd bond movie staring the 6th bond Daniel Craig. Do go and watch the movie. Its worth it.
