The quantum of pc gamepads = cheap plastic.

Quantum is known for selling cheap. Ahem. Affordable Computer accessories. This gamepad, is one of them. Made almost completely out of plastic, this is a DUALSHOCK-2 based gamepad, and works pretty much like one, only much cheaper, both in cost and quality. Again, it’s available at around ₹300, so the quality is rather fine. The question is- is it really worth your hard-earned cash? Kind of.

COMPATIBILITY: First off, the gamepad comes with a CD that includes* the drivers. Trust me, they DON’T WORK. It’s much easier and safer to download drivers from the internet. Just Google it, you’ll find a virus-free installer. The gamepad itself is compatible for only games that are either PS2 era, or support old controllers. You might be able to play FIFA and Don Bradman Cricket, but Don’t expect anything more.

DESIGN, FIT AND FINISH: The gamepad is at least well designed, and the buttons, analog sticks with their vibrations, and the triggers are functional. For the amount of buttons: it has the D-pad, the four face buttons, two analog sticks, Four front buttons ( triggers) , and the Start & Select buttons. As I said, Ps2 layout. So it copies what I consider a great design, and I’ll give it a few points for that. If you’re a casual gamer( and one who uses the gamepad for only a handful of games) , you can go for this gamepad, but again, don’t expect much. All in all, a rather functional controller.

VERDICT: At this price point, the gamepad has only one main competitor, the RedGear SmartLine, but the Quantum is still worth it. This is my third time saying this though- Don’t expect much.
