PRODUCT: QUBO DASHCAM 3K PRO+ REAR CAMERA(1080p)
All Cons, No Pros:
1. The product is a dual camera setup, but it comes with only 1 electrostatic film. How stupid of Qubo? And then it doesn’t stick well with the windshield. It dropped the camera after 1-2 hours.
2. Qubo claims the front camera has a 3K resolution, but it makes only 640p videos in 4:3 ratio and this is the resolution even when the video setting is on a HIGH. God knows what it will be on LOW. This is misleading and fraudulent. I have attached file properties and a sample video.
3. Video quality is so bad in the day that one cannot read the vehicle number plates also. At night the number plates of vehicles outside glow immensely in the video making it impossible to read.
4. Same is the problem with the images, all are in 640p in 4:3 ratio. Very bad quality of images.
5. There are very few settings in the app. For example, there is no option to change the video length. By default, it makes only 1-minute videos and I can’t change it.
6. When downloading the video on my mobile, there is an option to select up to 3 minutes of video length but there is no option to select video resolution.
Customer Service of Qubo:
1. Customer service of Qubo is one of the worst that I have ever come across. In India, manufacturers’ priority is selling and not after sale customer care.
2. They refused any help on the issues that I had with their device stating that’s how this product is designed and built. They also claimed that nowhere did they claim that customers/users will be able to view/read the number plates of the cars moving outside, even if just in front of my car, neither in the day nor in the night.
3. They had no answer/resolution to my question when I asked them - Why it produces only 640p videos/pictures and why I can’t make the video in 16.9 ratio and in 3K?
4. Then they disconnected the WhatsApp chat and marked my case as resolved.
General concern for Qubo:
I am surprised that manufacturers in India don’t properly test their devices and by what use cases they work on? Why can’t they take feedback from customers and why can’t they think like a customer and see how they can make their lives simple instead of making them more complicated? Why do they resort to fraudulent/fake claims about their product to just sell to ignorant public?
Advice for other buyers looking to buy a Dashcam.
1. Dashcam market is dominated by Chinese companies and almost all the products are useless. Don’t fall into the trap of marketing done by these companies and YouTube reviewers. All are paid/sponsored.
2. It is far better to use an old/unused mobile phone which has a good quality camera as a dashcam. Although the FOV will be less compared to claimed FOVs of dashcams, but the mobile phone will produce far better video and image qualities than the Qubo or other dashcams. It will also cost you the same.
3. I was using my old Samsung S7 as a dashcam mounted on a mobile phone holder on the windshield until when I purchased this BAD product from Amazon. I was getting far better video and picture qualities both day and night. I am still far happy with the results and have returned to my phone.
VERDICT: NEVER BUY DASHCAMS AND OTHER PRODUCTS OF QUBO. THEIR PRODUCT DESCRIPTIONS ARE MISLEADING, FRAUDULENT AND THE QUALITY IS BELOW STANDARDS OF EXPECTATIONS. CUSTOMER SERVICE IS WORST AND INSENSITIVE.
