My sister is a big fan of Queensland and so we thought we can take her there as a gift. It was peak summer in Chennai so we took a car and reached the place around lunch time. The only advantage of this place is that it is close to the city. So people is Porur, Anna Nagar etc will find it easily accesible. It is very close to Chokhi Dhani btw.
Enterance ticket was fairly priced but the moment we stepped in, we realised we made a big mistake. There was crowd for every ride. The electric car alone was free. For one, the management should have a cap on the number of people inside.
Dry and semi wet rides required at least 30 mins waiting per ride so we thought we can go to the pool first. So we head towards the swimming and wave pool. The change room was pathetic so I changed outdoors. My wife and sis told the ladies change room was not any better.
We then went to the wavepool which was nice but definitely dirty. I wasnt feeling secure with my wife and guys around even though they cardoned off very well.
The main pool was very dirty. It was again cardoned off but I can see men staring at the ladies pretty often. There were hardly any directions. We dint know which slide is for the ladies and which for men, cos the baloon slide was meant for both gender I learnt. The crowd was definitely unmanageable and there was again a big queue for the slides.
Beyond a point we felt very dirty so we went back to the change area and managed to get back dry. How we took lockers and returned and got back the caution deposit is another story.
We then wanted to try some dry rides. All were crowded and there were hardly any signages. But we liked cable car but the walk to it was very long!
We then lost interest and stasted back since it was still crowded and full of mosquitos.
The place maybe better on weekdays but surely dont visit during summer weekends!
