Queensland Theme Park is located on the Chennai-Bangalore Trunk Road about 25 km from Kathipara Junction(Guindy) in Chennai. Based on the traffic conditions in Poonamallee, it takes about 30 mins from this junction. The price for a day(10 AM to 7 PM) is Rs 350/- which includes all rides and you dont have to pay anything extra for any ride. You are given a map to negotiate your way around the park and all the rides are quite accessible by walking around the pathway. A band with numbers listed is tied around your wrist and it is marked everytime you take a particular ride.
About the rides, there are atleast 20 which you can enjoy and there are few more for little kids. You are first greeted with the Free Fall Tower and then followed by a couple of roller coaster rides which are quite good. You also have a cable car which goes a long way and you get a good aerial view of the entire park including a small lake where you can go on a boat trip. Lunch can be had at the small restaurants(veg/non-veg) inside the park while I personally felt that you can carry a small home made lunch box. The park is neat and well maintained.
The Water rides were really enjoyable and you can get a locker for 2 hrs(security deposit Rs 150/-) and also shorts and swimsuits for a reasonable price. The Himalayan ride is a must for anybody and you can liesure out at the American wave pool which is a huge swimming pool with artificial waves.
There are other attractions like a 3d show ride, mirror house which can cover your time till 6-7 PM in the evening. All in all, its good clean fun and a nice way to spend time with your family.
Things to keep in mind
Try to reach the park by 10.30 AM so that you can have get to spend the whole day worth for your money and enjoy all the rides
Carry just a small bag or pouch so that you need not worry about where to keep those heavy luggages during a ride.
A towel, shorts, swimsuit is handy but you can also get them for a price.
Drink water to avoid dehydration and use sun tan lotion.
