The Queshm island is situated near Iran which is a Free port, Means no Visa is required to enter that island. Normaly people go to that island for Visa Change from Countries like UAE etc.
The Flighing time from Dubai(Terminal -2:Old Airport) to Queshm Island is 40 Min and the Flight is a small 36 seater flight. One can literaly see the Engine engulfed with Black Color due to the Smoke. One as to get into the aircraft from Behind (Army/Transport Air craft) unlike normal airlines. There wont be any A/C and one would sweating like anything.Suddenly flight steward would come in and shout at the pilot to start the aircraft. The pilot would be wearing normal Shirt and trousers as if a normal passenger. If you land in the island there in night, the moment you get out of the Craft one can hardly see the runway. And then From the Aircraft before entering the land , the authority issues visa for 14 days in a Slip other than embarkation stamp on the passport.
Another 45 min drive from Airport to the Hotel. During the course of CAB travel one can hardly find any buildings/People/Vehicles. But one can find some villages on the pass by. One entering the hotel one can see many people are staying waiting for there visa to come.Communication facility are Telephone & Fax and that too in that hotel only. There is no Bill meter, they fix ISD calls based on the Country. The Currency is of very low value compared INR(Indian Rupees) or AED(UAE Dirhams) i.e: 2000 Riyal = 13 Ruppes. People say that they had Iranian Tea, But I can proudly and truthfully say that ’’I HAD REAL IRANY CHAI(TEA) IN IRAN.’’
The worst part is the People book hotel rooms based on the Arrival dates of the Visa-permit, but for some(oops..Many) people it gets delayed & hence they stay back. so people who come there find no rooms available (it happend to me).And hence I had to stay in a near by hotel(Old building of the same hotel) with a Pakistani(from Azad Kashmir)and one more South indian for one day.Then we moved to the place which was bookes for us. The only hotel of Villa type. I must admit the place was nice and clean . with Table tennis Court and all.
Once coming out of the hotel campus , one can see only moutains, mountains and Hard Rock Moutains. Yeh , one can also see the border of Iran, with lights glittering at nights. We played Table tennis with Nigerian, Russian, Pakistani and obviously Indians.I felt very good!!!what a cultural exchange. Food was pathetic , being a vegterain(me) one must carry bread loafs, Choclates etc. or even the rice would come with Fish, Chicker or mutton. It was tremendous experiance of 4 nights and 3 days till I got the visa back to dubai. but normal stay there would be of 3 days Approx. I would say: ONCE IN A LIFE TIME EXPERIENCE. But then made sure , even for visa change I would come back to India...... Rather it was like a Freedon but inside a open prison.
