Am really surprised at why and how people keep giving so much of word of fame for this lousy movie.
Goodies - jeevas acting is good compared to his other films, kanja and rehmans entrant is also good. With too much of hype and expectation I watched the movie but was really disappointed. It doesn’t deserve all the kudos. Plot is simple - affectionate mother is murdered and the son avenges for it. Investigation goes on and on and the killer gets into the trap voluntarily.
Goodies about the movie: camera angle is good. Java has more scope for acting and he does it with excellence. No bla bla dances and surprisingly no awkward stunts and duets at foreign locales. Rehmans acting is classy and his dialogue delivery brings a smile. Gajala minor role. Screenplay as described by everyone is not that racy and once the killer is idenfied limps a lot. Jeeva, what is his background, about his father, his studies, why did he go spiritual, how is his strange behavior going to help the movie. Weird behavior means walking like a machine with stern erect face, when he talks reciting the words from epics and Vedas. No separate comedy track and dwells on dialog delivery. The whole movie revolves in a dark background and still ram is a mystery.rehmans scene was going well and was really blended with the story but abruptly he was killed. The murder also has happened abruptly for a silly reason and there is no concrete justification for the same. Above all ram nearly spends about 10 -15 mins with a song and yaekna and sitting at the top of the mountain, meditating and then go in search of the killer.
No one can predict whether ram is intelligent or hero or mentally disabled or lunatic. He behaves like escaped from a lunatic asylum.that undecodable song in the basket ball court is another pain. On the whole the movie is good with few scenes and few good acting but deftly not an extraordinarily fantastic or an acclaimed one. Many people won’t find this movie as an entertainer or mound blowing one. People who need a break from usual masalas , beauties , glamour and cutting edge technolgy can watch. people who need entertainment , racy screenplay , star value , different dimension of filming etc etcs can stay away as it will invite scoldings or misfire reaction from the ’company’ (family, friends) we are going with. the story was really struggling and hanging the mountains of kodai.
Being a product of bala he could have handled the story still more intelligently with having good casting and story.
