Kamal wanted a hit.very badly.Last year couple of his movies failed miserably in the box office.So now he goes in for the usual stuff with the present megastar, who is having the best form of his career.Kerala is a land that contains people who made movies like ’’vesham’’ hits.So I wont be surprised if this one turns out to be a hit as well.
Unfortunately, Kamal and T.A Razzak went behind the same old stuff of packed sentiments and tries to help ladies flush tears.But sir, people like u are the only hopes for malyalam cinema...y did u give this one to us?We wanted something new, something fresh...but this is the same old, rotten egg.I think I should say I wanted new themes....because I always fell bad at these so called ’’intellegent’’ malyalees’ movie selection.They say they want new...but goes more than once for the same old stuff...Disappointing...And those kids who need new themes expect nothing more than a ’’titanic’’ or ’’lord of the rings’’...yeah...a land of immature people.....Whatever...this one really disappoints me...
The movie is about a homely, affectionate servant who is ready to sacrifice anything for the big famile that feeds him.He is loved immensely by his mam(sharada), whom he considers as his mother.There are also few other supporters for him, who become helpless when it comes to a matter of supporting him....Yeah, the new generation family members think about selling the family house, the estates and paddy fields.They divides the share among the different families and asks mammootty to leave them and be on his own.They take their mom with them as well.But mom is not able to leave mammooty and comes back to him.Then they live together with another servant who served the house, nayantara...who actually doesnt require any mentioning.She is not used well in the script at all.In between there appears characters that often torture mammootty and gives hint to lady viewers to get hold of their handkerchief.
Mammootty does his part well, which is not a surprise, as well as salim kumar.The camera by Sukumar is also appreciable.But the plot is more than disappointing, something which u have already seen in a 100 malayalam movies and a 1000 hindi movies.And I dont understand y geetu was in the movie...y balachandra menon was in the movie....maybe u could.....who knows.....So all in all its a movie with few credits and a lot of flaws...But as a movie lover, i want all movie to be successful in the box office, i know thats being more lenient, but thats just love for this fellow being who is called the producer.So...i wish best of luck for him(Howli Pottoor..who lost more than a crore for the movie ’’manjupoloru penkutty’’.....)
